1. Follow the weather
You can’t always count on Mother Nature to cooperate, even in sunny, tropical Mexico. Be sure to research when the hurricane season is in your chosen location, and do not tempt fate. However, if you must, then be sure to purchase travel insurance.
2. Follow the law
Like every country, Mexico has its own requirements for legal marriage. Be sure you are 100% prepared before you leave home to provide everything from birth certificates to blood, lest your nuptials turn into a simple declaration of love for friends and family. And make sure your passports are up to date long before your trip. they will need to be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival.
3. Follow recommendations
Use reputable vendors. If you are not using a wedding coordinator to help you in this regard, be sure to ask DJs, Florists and the like for a list of satisfied customers.
4. Follow modern etiquette
Your guests are paying a lot of money to attend your wedding, not to mention using their precious vacation time. Do not make them feel compelled to buy you a gift by creating a registry. Modern custom states that their presence is their gift.
5. Follow the flow
Adopt a laid back attitude and accept that all nuptials hit snags, especially in a destination where you don’t speak the language, share the currency, or understand the customs. Rely on friends and family for help, and be sure to arrive at the destination at least a few days before the event.
