Whether you are planning to head south for your honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, or planning to stay on here a little longer after your destination wedding, it’s natural to have a gallery of potential honeymoon photos playing in the back of your mind. This is a once-in-a-lifetime vacation we are talking about here! You will be completely, madly in love, frolicking your days away amidst the tropical romance of a turquoise sea and soft opalescent sand.
Do you think your amateur selfies are really going to capture the essence of this?
Probably not.
Can you trust the random Passer-By to bottle your blissful “I am finally finished planning a wedding!” feeling when you hand them your camera?
Unlikely.
If there is ever a time to invest in professional photography in Riviera Maya, it’s on your honeymoon.
But let’s be honest, you have more important matters to attend to on your honeymoon (wink wink) and the last thing you want to do is drag yourselves through a painfully drawn out photo session during your preciously limited time. So obviously you want to know what the time commitment will be before booking a honeymoon photography session.
That’s where we come in. We are professional photographers in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and we know how long it takes to capture the magic before sending you back to the land of marital bliss.
How much time should a honeymoon photography package include?
We have found that the perfect amount of time for a session with lovebirds is 1.5 hours. In the Riviera Maya, your typical session should include a jungle backdrop and a beach setting, or two different nearby locations of your choice.
How much time should it take to get great honeymoon photos?
What if you don’t want to spend an hour and a half taking photos? That’s fine! It rarely takes that long to get a collection of beautiful photos anyways. We can capture the magic in an hour tops, and sometimes even 45 minutes is sufficient for a stunning sunset shoot on the beach. The goal is to get you back on your vacation, and to the important honeymoon activities you have scheduled.
If you already know this is you, and your budget is tight, then it’s worth asking your photographer if they have a special rate for an expedited photo session. You might get lucky!
What if I want a longer honeymoon photography session?
Of course, then there’s those of you who want a longer session, with more photos. You want multiple locations, a wardrobe change, and you love being in front of the camera. In the Playa del Carmen area, there are so many cool settings for spectacular photos, why just settle for the beach?
In this case, we recommend booking your photographer at their half day rate. That should be plenty of time to deliver everything you want and need.
