Nicole & Josh – Hip Hotel Tulum

Nicole and Josh are Fun In The Sun Weddings’ newest newlyweds! Our bride and groom’s connection was so instantaneous, that their Tulum wedding seemed inevitable from the beginning.

Here is their story…

How They Met

Nicole and Josh met at the Scottsdale Culinary Festival where Josh was working. The moment their eyes met eyes met, they didn’t break for 45 minutes. Josh completely neglected all responsibility and talked to the woman who would become the love of his life. The world could have ended right there around them and they would have been completely unaware. It wasn’t until her friend said, “Uh…are you two going to exchange numbers…or what?!?!” that they snapped back into reality!

How They Got Engaged

From that first intense moment they met, they both knew that a wedding inevitable. When a European vacation was on the calendar with a mutual friend, Josh knew this would be a perfect proposal. He carried the ring around during a rainy week before the right time presented itself. It was on the Amsterdam canals at sunset that Josh asked Nicole spend the rest of her life with him. Of course, she said ‘Yes!’, and thankfully their friend was safe distance away to capture the whole event!

Why a Destination Wedding in Tulum

After attending Josh’s boss’ destination wedding in Tulum, they knew it was the perfect place to get married on the beach. It was beautiful, off the grid, and an amazing spot for their friends and family to relax together.

The Wedding Details

This Anti-Bridezilla only chose options that were simple, pure and good for the soul.

They found their fabulous wedding planner Lucy Gallagher, who helped them bring to life their vision of  natural simplicity with a beach wedding at Hip Hotel Tulum.

The amazing florists at Cherry Blossom Mexico designed their creations around Nicole’s favorite flower, the Lily.

Nicole was a stunner on her wedding day thanks to the team at Zoe Elizabeth Makeup, in her chic lace beach wedding dress and cape veil. The rest of their wedding party wore dusty rose and light blue to compliment the natural beauty of Tulum.

Their Favorite Wedding Moment

By far the best wedding day moment was when Nicole followed through on her bet with the best man. Years back she lost a bet and she had to gangster limp three steps down the aisle at her wedding ceremony! Her swagger in those three steps before she said ‘I Do’ left her as the winner overall!

The Bride’s Advice

What advice does Nicole have for couples getting married on the beach in Mexico?

Don’t stress! There are so many details, scenarios and logistics for the big day. Get your vision out there and let it be. The day is planned for years and months and then gone with a blink of the eye it’s gone so fast. We would do anything to be a fly on the wall to watch it happen all over again, but I guess that’s what Fun in the Sun and Marc are for!

Nicole and Josh, it has been so special sharing this adventure with you, and we wish you endless happiness in your marriage. Come back to see us again soon. Congratulations!
