Reia and Cymando are Fun In The Sun Weddings’ newest newlyweds! This bride and groom’s speedy courtship, fortunately, allowed them a destination wedding in Mexico that just squeezed under the wire for Coronavirus pandemic closures.
Here is their story…
How they met
Our bride and groom met one year before they said “I Do!” when Cymando saw Reia’s profile pop up on Facebook’s ‘People you may know’ feature. He sent her a witty message, which made her smile. After vetting him with their mutual friends, and talking on the phone for a few days, they had their first date at the gym. Later that evening they went for dinner, and very quickly they both knew that they had found someone special.
How they got engaged
After only five months of dating, Cymando took Reia’s dad out to lunch and asked him for permission to marry his daughter. Later that evening, he proposed to Reia in front of her family.
Why a destination wedding in Cancun
Cymando had always dreamed of a destination wedding, and Reia shared his excitement. She envisioned a beautiful sunset beach wedding ceremony surrounded by their friends and family. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some close family and friends canceled, however, they still had an amazing time with those who did show.
The wedding details
Because they met in March, they chose to be married in March as well. It was also the week of Reia’s birthday, so they celebrated a wedding, honeymoon, and birthday all in one fabulous vacation at Now Jade Riviera Cancun.
The bride chose a color palette to compliment the sunset with warm hues of ivory, champagne, gold, and peach. She especially loved her bouquet with the hand-painted gold highlights.
Arly at Wedding Decor & Gifts created most of the unique wedding details; wedding favors, signs, ceremony programs to be used as fans, personalized sunglasses and even a special painted art piece to serve as their guest book.
The bride was polished and glowing thanks to the glam squad at Sara Tamargo Makeup & Hair.
The bride’s advice
What advice does Reia have for couples currently planning a destination wedding in Mexico?
Everything may not go perfectly, but your day will turn out how it’s meant to be…just embrace all that comes – the good, bad and in between, you ultimately set the tone for your day. You are having this wedding, this wedding isn’t having you.
Reia and Cymando, we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to capture your special day and are especially happy for you that your wedding plans were not thwarted by the pandemic lockdown. We wish you this kind of good fortune all through your marriage. Congratulations!
